Waikato Hospital – Permanent, full-time (80 hours per fortnight)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced General Radiologist to join our Radiology Department at Waikato Hospital. In this role, you will provide expert interpretation and reporting across a wide range of imaging modalities, including CT, Ultrasound, and X-Ray. You’ll work with a diverse mix of complex clinical cases spanning both outpatient and acute general radiology. You will also contribute to multidisciplinary meetings, support registrar education, and play an active role in maintaining and advancing high clinical standards within the department.

About Our Service

Waikato Hospital is a tertiary training hospital and Level 1 Trauma Centre serving the wider Waikato region – one of the busiest in New Zealand. Our Radiology Department performs approximately 200,000 examinations annually, with significant focus on Emergency and Trauma imaging and Oncology. Located in the heart of Hamilton, the hospital sits within a vibrant, welcoming city known for its reasonable cost of living and easy commute. About You
  • Strong clinical judgement and the ability to make effective decisions under pressure
  • Confidence using data to support quality improvement, performance, and service growth
  • Eligibility for registration in the vocational scope of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology with the Medical Council of New Zealand
  • A subspecialty fellowship (preferred)
