Site Engineer - Structures

HEB Construction is a dynamic and innovative leader in the construction of New Zealand's Infrastructure. We are involved with a variety of projects from road construction and maintenance through to earthworks, drainage, marine works, and major projects of national significance.

We’re on the lookout for a motivated Site Engineer to provide technical support to Project Managers across a diverse portfolio of exciting civil infrastructure projects. This role plays a key part in ensuring safety, quality and environmental standards are met, while supporting programming, scheduling, procurement, and coordination with suppliers and subcontractors.

You’ll also contribute to developing construction methodologies for projects such as water and wastewater plants, bridges, wharves, reservoirs, piling works and other structural assets. If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you!

We have multiple opportunities available, all based on the Penlink project.

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Contributing to the safe planning and execution of project tasks
\n
• Developing inspection and test plans in line with project specifications, and managing compliance including hold points, inspections, and quality records
\n
• Assisting with procurement of materials and subcontractors, including preparing purchase orders and subcontract agreements
\n
• Supporting the preparation of variation claims and the development and maintenance of contract programmes
\n
• Following safe work methodologies and reporting any non‑compliance
\n

You’ll bring:

\n
• An Engineering Certificate or Bachelor’s degree
\n
• A valid Full Class 1 driver’s license
\n
• Relevant experience in civil design and/or construction
\n
• The ability to plan tasks, including allocation of plant, labour and materials
\n
• Excellent time‑management abilities
\n
• A collaborative, team‑focused approach
\n
