# Solutions Architect at NZ Commerce Commission, Wellington## Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this roleWe're looking for a skilled and forward-thinking Solution Architect to join our Information Services team. This is a newly established role that will play a key part in our evolving Information Services operating model.This permanent role will be based in our Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington) office.Mō te tūranga | About the roleAs our Solution Architect, you'll sit at the intersection of business strategy and technology delivery. You'll work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to design practical, secure, and sustainable solutions that meet today's needs while supporting our long-term technology direction.This role combines enterprise planning and solution architecture, helping to shape our future technology landscape while supporting the successful delivery of projects and digital services.You'll: Develop target-state architecture, technology roadmaps, and a practical 3 to 5 year plan for platform and capability evolution Translate business needs into clear architecture and solution options, balancing cost, risk, complexity, and timeframes Provide architectural leadership across technology initiatives from planning through to implementation Define and assure security, resilience, performance, availability, and supportability requirements across solutions Lead architecture governance and contribute to standards, patterns, and ways of working that strengthen organisational capability Partner closely with business teams, delivery partners, and Information Services colleagues to ensure solutions deliver value and remain sustainable over timeThis is an opportunity to help shape how Information Services engages with the organisation, supports innovation, and enables future-focused capabilities including data, analytics, automation, AI readiness, and modern digital platforms.The salary band for this role is $137,710 to $162,012 plus 3.5% KiwiSaver employer contribution.

You enjoy solving complex problems, influencing decision-making, and finding practical solutions that support organisational goals.You'll bring: Experience designing and delivering end-to-end architecture in complex environments The ability to translate business requirements into clear and effective technology solutions Experience developing enterprise architecture roadmaps and future-state technology plans Strong understanding of security, resilience, performance, and other non-functional requirements Experience in working with PRINCE2 and Agile development groups. Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical audiences Knowledge of contemporary architecture practices, governance frameworks, and modern technology ecosystems Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in information technology, architecture, or a related disciplineRead more about the skills, experience and knowledge required for this position in the position description.
