Auckland based opportunity. Fixed Term Contract - 24 Months. This is a key role within our D&T Cards and Payments Team. Kiwibank is undergoing a major technological transformation to meet the demands of 24/7 digital banking, and our Cards & Payments team is at the forefront. Join us to build and run modern scalable container‑based platforms and CI/CD pipelines in the cloud, enabling teams across Kiwibank to develop cutting‑edge, containerised workloads.
\nWe are looking for a talented Senior .Net C# Software Engineer to work across the design and development of enterprise‑grade APIs on our brand‑new cloud platform. If you’re passionate about building high‑performance, scalable systems and want to make a real impact on how New Zealanders bank, this could be the perfect opportunity.
\nKey Skills and Experience\n- \n
- Minimum 5+ years of recent and hands‑on experience with C# and .Net Core development. \n
- Proven experience designing, developing, and deploying micro‑services for cloud‑native platforms, at scale. Experience delivering applications to run on containers and orchestrating them using Kubernetes (AWS EKS or similar). \n
- Experience in CI/CD practices: Drive and deliver via declarative deployment practices with automated quality and built in security. \n
- Strong capability in designing and implementing micro‑services architectures, specifically for API development, including breaking down monolithic business processes into de‑coupled, reusable component‑based systems. \n
- Proven experience working in Agile and DevOps environments, with a demonstrated understanding of iterative development, collaboration, and automation principles. \n
- Effective verbal and written skills. Skilled at communicating complex information effectively to a range of different audiences. Effective presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to challenge, persuade and influence. \n

- An understanding of banking and accounting processes and models. \n
- Understanding Payment Cards Industry regulations, i.e PCI‑DSS. \n
- Experience of contract‑first design of APIs using formats such as OpenAPI/Swagger/GraphQL for API descriptions and OAuth / zero‑trust design principles for authentication. \n
