About the roleWe’re looking for a Resource Management Planner or Senior Resource Management Planner to join our resource consent processing team. In this role, you’ll process a wide range of resource consent applications while contributing to high-quality planning outcomes across the district. Depending on your experience, you’ll also play a key role in mentoring junior team members and supporting quality assurance.
Key responsibilities include- providing best practice advice on resource consent applications
- processing applications, variations, designations, easements and certification work
- making decisions under delegation in line with the RMA and relevant legislation
- liaising with applicants, submitters and stakeholders
- supporting quality assurance processes and reviewing draft decisions (Senior level)
- mentoring and supporting the development of junior planners (Senior level)
We’re open to candidates at both Planner and Senior Planner level.
You will bring:
- a relevant tertiary qualification in planning, resource management or environmental management
- experience in resource consenting (typically 4+ years for Senior level)
- strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- excellent communication and relationship management skills
- a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
- a passion for continuous improvement and, at Senior level, developing others
