Op Shop Manager
Job Description
We’re looking for two experienced and motivated Op Shop Managers to support our retail teams in casual relief/on-call roles, providing cover when needed at their assigned store. This is an exciting opportunity to combine your retail leadership skills with a meaningful cause, stepping into store leadership when required, supporting volunteers, and ensuring an exceptional shopping experience that helps improve the lives of animals across New Zealand.

- Lead the day-to-day operation and performance of the Op Shop, driving sales and creating an outstanding customer experience. \n
- Manage merchandising, stock control, pricing and promotional displays to maximise sales. \n
- Lead, train, and support a team of volunteers, fostering a positive and productive environment. \n
- Build strong relationships with donors, customers and the local community to grow support for the store. \n
- Oversee cash handling, banking, reporting and store administration using retail systems and technology. \n
- Ensure the store operates safely and in line with SPCA policies, procedures and health and safety standards. \n
You're an experienced retail leader who enjoys motivating people, achieving sales targets and creating outstanding customer experiences. Every sale contributes to SPCA’s vital animal welfare work, and you’ll play a key role in creating a welcoming, well‑run shop that supports both the community and our mission.
\nWhat we're looking for\n- \n
- Retail management experience (second‑hand retail advantageous). \n
- Proven ability to achieve sales and revenue targets. \n
- Experience leading, coaching and developing teams (volunteers advantageous). \n
- Strong merchandising and stock management skills. \n
- Exceptional customer service and relationship‑building skills. \n
- Confident managing cash handling, banking and financial reporting.\n
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, email and retail POS systems. \n
- A genuine commitment to the values and mission of SPCA. \n
