About the Role

Clinical Nurse Specialist – Dialysis Access (Renal Service) – 0.8FTE permanent, based in Te Whatu Ora Waitematā, Auckland.

Lead and coordinate the end‑to‑end dialysis access pathway for patients with chronic and end‑stage renal disease. This advanced practice role is pivotal in ensuring timely, seamless access to haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, working closely with nephrologists, vascular teams, radiology and multidisciplinary services. Responsibilities include managing surgical waitlists, coordinating procedures, providing expert patient education and overseeing ongoing access surveillance to directly improve patient outcomes and experience.

About the Team / Service / Location

The role covers the entire Waitematā region and may move between sites, but the primary location is North Shore.

About You

We are looking for a Registered Nurse with a current New Zealand APC and a postgraduate qualification in renal/acute care, at least 5 years’ renal experience, recognised specialty leadership, advanced clinical assessment, coordination and communication skills, and a passion for patient‑centred care, education and service improvement.
