The Role
We are looking for a part‑time, permanent Forensic Psychiatrist to work within a multidisciplinary team, providing comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and treatment in a hospital, outpatient and community setting, including courts and corrections.
- Provide assessment, diagnosis and treatment in hospital and outpatient settings.
- Liaise with courts, corrections and community services.
- Collaborate with five other Forensic Psychiatrists and multidisciplinary staff.
- Offer support and supervision in new practice areas such as court work and legal issues.
- Work flexible, part‑time hours as agreed with the team.
Qualifications
- Eligible for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
- Previous forensic experience valued but not essential.
- Strong commitment to a supportive, multidisciplinary approach to forensic psychiatry.
