\nThe Role\nWe’re looking for a Senior Group Accountant to take ownership of the Group’s financial reporting and deliver both technical accuracy and commercial insight across the business. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role leads the core accounting function including month‑end close, consolidated reporting, statutory reporting, audit coordination, and tax compliance.
\nThis role partners closely with operational and branch teams to provide financial insights that support decision‑making. You’ll operate with a high level of independence while strengthening financial controls and driving continuous improvement across systems and processes.
\nYou will act as a trusted advisor across the business, influencing financial discipline, driving accountability, and lifting the overall capability of non‑financial stakeholders.
\nWhat You’ll Be Doing\n- \n
- Lead the end‑to‑end month‑end close process \n
- Prepare consolidated group financial reporting \n
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and maintain general ledger integrity \n
- Prepare statutory financial statements and maintain audit readiness \n
- Lead and coordinate the external audit process \n
- Oversee GST, FBT, and income tax compliance with external advisors \n
- Improve financial controls, processes, and reporting integrity \n
- Support management reporting, including variance analysis \n
- Partner with operational teams to provide financial insights \n

- CA / CPA qualified (or equivalent) essential \n
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a complex or multi‑entity environment \n
- Strong technical accounting experience across IFRS / NZ GAAP, consolidations, and statutory reporting \n
- Experience leading external audits and working with auditors \n
- Commercial mindset, with the ability to turn data into useful insights \n
- Ability to work with stakeholders and support business decision‑making \n
- Strong ERP and financial systems experience, with advanced Excel skills \n
- High attention to detail and focus on accuracy and financial controls \n
- Able to work independently and manage competing priorities \n
- Continuous improvement mindset, with a focus on improving systems and processes \n
