New Zealand Business Development Leader
Job Description
New Zealand Business Development Leader is responsible for delivering exceptional client service by understanding client issues and challenges, leveraging the firm’s capabilities to address these, and driving new business opportunities to grow revenue and deepen customer relationship management. Focusing on key accounts within the New Zealand market, this role is 80% client facing and focused on driving global accounts strategy, rigorous account planning, and relationship development across the client(s) organisation.
\nBased in Auckland, New Zealand, the role is also responsible for providing sales leadership across the NZ market and for contributing to the overall market strategy and transformation goals of the firm.
\nResponsibilities\n- \n
- Sales leadership for the NZ market supporting the NZ Country Managing Partner, the Service Line Leader and partners, including their teams. Play an active part in working alongside the NZ leadership team in developing market strategy, including driving continued collaboration between the New Zealand, Australian and global EY business. \n
- Account strategy: Responsible for driving account planning, revenue growth, sales and relationships on multiple core accounts as well as initiating, building and sustaining exceptional client relationships to the most senior levels of the organisation. \n
- Opportunity Management: Identify opportunities and client challenges and bring the appropriate EY resources and insights to the client to resolve challenges. Act as a strategic advisor on both long‑term and short‑term pipeline execution, revenue plan deal review and negotiation strategies. \n
- Market Knowledge – Deep understanding of the industry, market trends, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities and challenges. \n
- Strong Communication Skills – Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate ideas clearly and persuasively to clients, stakeholders, and EY team members. \n
- Relationship Building – Proficiency in building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, partners, and internal teams, fostering trust and collaboration. \n
- Sales Acumen – Proven track record in business development and/or sales, with the ability to identify opportunities and support the sales process, develop client value proposition and support the accounts teams to drive revenue growth. \n
- Strategic Thinking – Ability to develop and implement long‑term strategies that align with our All in Strategy and market opportunities. \n
- Business Development Experience – A minimum of 10+ years of business development experience in the professional services or relevant other professional services environment with a proven record of selling complex services and solutions at the "C" level of companies, preferably in a professional services environment. \n
- Commercial Acumen – Ability to drive performance across the portfolio of accounts and solutions and strong focus on commercial outcomes that align with the interests of our clients. \n

- Expert client management and influencing skills. \n
- Solid understanding of the New Zealand marketplace/industry, competition and key account insights. \n
- Has good external network across key accounts and brings a track record of driving revenue growth through client relationships. \n
- Brings a base level of knowledge and understanding of our ecosystem of Alliance Partners – i.e. SAP, Microsoft and/or ServiceNow. \n
- Flexibility with work hours might be required due to working with clients in varying time zones. Ability to travel across our key offices will be required. \n
