Job Description
The V&V Senior Engineer's primary role is to develop requirements analysis, configuration data and automated test activities to ensure required system performance and reliability standards are designed in and verified within Cubic following designated standards and procedures. The role includes the ability to assess the test requirements; define a test plan and procedures; perform the test phase and provide detailed reports allowing test repeatability. Additionally the V&V Senior Engineer is to support off site testing activities, either abroad at a customer location or at any other Cubic facility or remote location.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities- Lead the development and programming of various automated and semi-automated test equipment.
- Work closely with management to develop and coordinate test concepts and objectives.
- Advise management on potential risks, costs, and schedule variables associated with alternate testing at various assembly levels.
- Collaborate with engineering leads to develop product and/or system requirements.
- Review proposed engineering test requirements and criteria for production.
- Provide input into the design process to ensure test requirements are included in new/upgraded designs.
- Perform analyses of test requirements and test criteria and provide input on optimal implementation methods.
- Assess and recommend equipment and material requirements for production test, trials, or demonstrations for new bids.
- Prepare detailed test plans with scope, resources, and schedules for program managers, design engineers, system engineers, and customers.
- Provide feedback to design engineers/system engineers to ensure test requirements are met.
- Coordinate with manufacturing engineering on production sequencing to determine best manufacturing configuration or build state.
- Work with manufacturing and industrial engineering to develop estimates for test time, cycle time, equipment usage, and capacity.
- Make equipment requirement recommendations and estimates for COTS or bench‑top equipment.
- Assist in first‑article proofing of procedures with required equipment and software prior to production release.
- Coordinate with Design and Quality Engineering to conduct root‑cause analysis when issues arise and find resolutions prior to release.
- Write automated test plans and procedures and conduct tests.
- Assist in developing test procedures, documentation, and troubleshooting techniques, and provide training support to test personnel.
- Support production testing by providing liaison support between product test, manufacturing, and design engineering.
- Prepare for and carry out formal acceptance testing with customers at Cubic sites or abroad.
- Comply with Cubic’s Quality Management System.

Qualification: Tertiary qualification in electronic engineering, computer science, information systems, or other relevant technical discipline (Essential).
Skills, Experience & Knowledge- Five years minimum experience with test methodology on electronic equipment, preferably within a product development area.
- Three years minimum experience performing testing in hardware, software, and systems.
- Five years minimum experience writing test plans, test procedures, and test reports.
- Five years minimum experience using test equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter, spectrum analyzer).
- Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel) and IT‑based tools.
- Software knowledge sufficient to operate interface software based on message structures to bits/bytes/data structures level; knowledge of hexadecimal message structures required.
- Knowledge of formal EMC testing and environmental testing.
- General hardware and mechanical knowledge.
