Job Description

The Engineering Services team sits within Brian Perry Civil and operates across the wider Fletcher Construction business, supporting Major Projects, Higgins and BPC.

We are a specialist, multi-disciplinary group combining Temporary Works, Construction Design, Geotechnical Engineering, Digital Engineering, CAD/Modelling and Survey. Our point of difference is working directly alongside construction teams solving problems in real time and influencing how projects are built, not just what gets designed.

\nAbout the Role\n

This role specialises in temporary works design and technical support to the construction teams. You will be working with the design and construction team ensuring project objectives and milestones are met, whilst maintaining high performance standards in safety, environmental and quality.

  • Design temporary works from concept through to issued‑for‑construction documentation
  • \n
  • Own your designs end‑to‑end, asking the right questions and driving solutions forward
  • \n
  • Work alongside site teams to align design with construction sequencing and methodology
  • \n
  • Coordinate structural, geotechnical and supplier inputs into a single, clear design outcome
  • \n
  • Review designs for safety, practicality and compliance prior to issue
  • \n
  • Inspect temporary works on site to confirm they are built and used as intended
  • \n
\nWhat you’ll bring to the role\n
    \n
  • 5+ years’ experience as a Structural Design Engineer
  • \n
  • Experience as a Temporary Works Engineer
  • \n
  • BE in Civil/Structural with 5+ years post study design experience
  • \n
  • Knowledge of temporary works construction practices and constructability innovation techniques
  • \n
  • Engineering design experience relevant to temporary works solutions
  • \n
  • Proven knowledge of AutoCAD
  • \n
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • \n
  • A willingness to mentor and develop the technical skills of fellow engineers
  • \n
  • A self‑driven approach with strong time‑management
  • \n
  • Clear, concise and efficient technical writing skills
  • \n
  • Ability to engage and liaise with internal and external stakeholders
