Team Recruitment
Hamilton, WKO, NZ Full Time
Reference: c43f8e9ad5bca4c5

Job Description

This is an outstanding opportunity to take the reins of one of New Zealand's largest and most important branch operations. We’re looking for an experienced Branch Manager who can lead from the front, inspire people, and deliver strong commercial and operational results. You’ll inherit a capable team with plenty of experience; we’re looking for a leader who can empower them, build trust, and create a positive, high‑performing culture. This is much more than keeping the wheels turning – you’ll have the opportunity to shape the future of the branch and make a genuine difference.

\nAbout the role\n

Based in Hamilton, you’ll have overall responsibility for the performance of the branch, leading approximately 140 staff and contractors across a multi‑site operation throughout the Waikato region.

\n

Reporting to the Regional Manager, you’ll be responsible for delivering operational excellence, financial performance, outstanding customer service and strong people leadership.

\n

Your responsibilities will include:

\n
    \n
  • Leading and developing a large operational team
  • \n
  • Full branch P&L accountability
  • \n
  • Driving operational performance and continuous improvement
  • \n
  • Building strong relationships with customers and contractors
  • \n
  • Supporting business growth alongside the regional sales team
  • \n
  • Developing your leadership team and creating accountability
  • \n
  • Maintaining high health and safety standards
  • \n
  • Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and customer service
  • \n
\nAbout you\n

You’ll be an experienced operational leader who enjoys working with people and isn’t afraid to roll up your sleeves when needed.

\n

You’ll bring proven branch or operations management experience; strong people leadership with the ability to coach and develop your team. You’ll also have experience managing budgets and commercial performance, and a track record of leading operational improvement. As with any leadership role you’ll have excellent relationship‑building and communication skills.

\n

Experience within freight, transport or logistics would be an advantage, but we’re equally interested in leaders from other operational industries.

\nWhat’s on offer\n
    \n
  • Salary plus performance bonus and company vehicle, along with Southern Cross health insurance
  • \n
  • Opportunity to lead one of the organisation’s largest branches
  • \n
  • Autonomy to make the role your own
  • \n
  • Long‑term career development within a successful national business
  • \n
  • A supportive Regional Manager who is committed to your success
  • \n
\n

If you’re ready to lead a large operation, develop a great team and make a lasting impact, we’d love to hear from you.
