Use your communications expertise to shape how change lands across Customs. This 12-month fixed-term / secondment opportunity is based in Wellington. The role is Senior Change Communications Advisor, reporting to the Principal Advisor Change and Transformation, Enterprise Services. Your work will have real impact, influencing how our people understand, prepare for, and adopt important organisational change.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver change communication plans that help people understand, prepare for and adopt change.
- Translate complex programme information into clear messages that are meaningful for different audiences.
- Provide trusted advice to project leaders, managers and senior stakeholders on communication approaches that build understanding, readiness and confidence.
- Create high-quality communication materials, including staff announcements, leader briefings, FAQs, presentations, talking points, intranet content and implementation updates.
- Build strong relationships across programmes and business areas to support effective engagement throughout the change journey.
- Strategic, audience-focused and confident turning complexity into clear, useful communication.
- Confident, credible and calm under pressure.
- Collaborative and pragmatic, with a strong service focus.
- Skilled at building trust and influencing through strong working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Adaptable and comfortable working with ambiguity and change.
- Committed to clear communication, continuous improvement and high professional standards.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in communications, public relations, journalism, change management or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Restricted security clearance.
