Consultant Radiologist - Wellington Hospital (permanent/fixed term)
Job Description
Radiology service at Wellington Regional Hospital and Kenepuru Hospital is expanding to meet growing demand. We are seeking additional Radiologists to support the enlarged service and contribute to a team that delivers high‑quality, timely imaging while promoting equity of access. Our service will introduce Photon Counting CT scanners early in 2026, enhancing cardiac, neuro, vascular and paediatric diagnostics.
Clinical responsibilities- Reporting and supervising imaging lists (CT, MRI, Ultrasound)
- Participation in fluoroscopy procedures as appropriate to the specialty
- Leading and contributing to clinical meetings/Multi‑Disciplinary Meetings (MDMs) and liaising with referring clinicians
- Teaching and supervision of radiology trainees (RANZCR years1–5)
- Participation in the diagnostic radiology on‑call roster as appropriate
- Vocationally registered in Radiology with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ); FRANZCR or equivalent qualification
- Sub‑specialty experience or interest in cardio‑thoracic, cardiac imaging, MSK, paediatrics, breast, or interventional radiology is highly valued
- Ability to provide high‑quality teaching and support to radiology registrars, registrars from other services and medical students where required
- Demonstrated collegial working relationships with multidisciplinary teams
