\nAbout the Role\nWe are seeking a highly experienced and motivated ClinicalNurse Specialist (CNS) – Oncology to provide advanced clinical leadershipand expertise across the cancer care pathway.
\nThis is a permanent part-time position suited to a seniorclinician with oncology knowledge and experience, capable of confidentlymanaging complex patient care and clinical situations. The CNS will play apivotal role in supporting patients and whānau throughout their cancer journey,ensuring care is safe, timely, patient-centred, and evidence-based.
\nWorking in close partnership with the multidisciplinaryteam, the CNS will provide expert clinical assessment, triage, andprioritisation to support optimal patient outcomes. The role requires a highlevel of clinical autonomy, with responsibility for supporting complexdecision-making and contributing to the overall clinical leadership of theservice.
\nThe successful candidate will demonstrate excellentcommunication skills, sound clinical judgement, and strong professionalintegrity. They will be a trusted senior clinician within the team, supportingothers, influencing practice, and contributing to a positive, learning-focusedclinical environment.
\nKey Responsibilities\n- \n
- Provideadvanced clinical care for patients with suspected or confirmed cancer,including complex cases \n
- Undertakecomprehensive assessment, triage, prioritisation, and ongoing management \n
- Actas a key clinical resource for patients, whānau, and healthcare professionals \n
- Supportequitable and timely access to cancer services and treatment \n
- Ensureclear and effective communication across all services and teams \n
- Contributeto multidisciplinary care and clinical decision-making \n
- Provideclinical leadership and support day-to-day practice within the service \n
- Delivereducation, mentoring, and support to build team capability \n
- Contributeto service development and quality improvement initiatives \n
This position is based in Nelson; however, travel between hospital sitesacross the Nelson Marlborough region will be required. The role works three8-hour shifts per week, Monday to Sunday, on a rostered and rotating basis.

- CurrentNew Zealand Annual Practising Certificate as a Registered Nurse \n
- Extensivepost-registration nursing experience, ideally within oncology,haematology, or related specialist services \n

- Excellentcommunication, coordination, and relationship-building abilities \n
