\nAbout the Role\n

We have Psychiatry Registrarpositions available from February2027. This is a non-training position but consideration in thefuture towards training positions based at Nelson Hospital on a 1 in 5 to 6roster.

\n

As a Psychiatry Registrar (Non Training),you will assist with psychiatricconsultation and referrals to mental health providing outpatient/inpatientassessment and treatment.

\n

This is a permanent full-time position (1.0 FTE). The hours are8.30AM to 4.30PM daily Monday to Friday. There is on-call overnight during theweek 4.30PM to 08.30AM and 8.00AM to 10.00PM over the weekend Friday nightthrough to Monday morning.

\nAbout the Team/Service/ Location\n

Mental Health and Addiction services in Nelson Marlborough have a variety of teams these include adult general psychiatry, addictions, child and youth and older persons. There are two inpatient units for the regionand many community outpatient teams that provide acute and routine outpatientcare.

As a Psychiatry Registrar (Non Training),you will:

  • Be willing to attendweekly training opportunities;
  • \n
  • Have commitment toproviding ethical care and treatment plans;
  • \n
  • Have excellent time andorganisation skills;
  • \n
  • Hold a MB ChB or equivalent with a minimum of one year ofhouse surgeon experience;
  • \n
  • Have a clean full driverslicense.
  • \n

Thesuccessful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZvisa at the time of applying.
