The Child, Youth and Family Mental Health portfolio includes three Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS) teams, Infant Mental Health, Maternal Mental Health, Intensive Care Support Services, Eating Disorder Liaison and Early Psychosis Intervention Services.
About the roleThe Primary Care Liaison role will be a Clinical Nurse Specialist responsible for coordinating and supporting primary care with shared care and communication pathways within the primary/secondary interface. Focus will be on GP and schools. The role is pivotal in the ongoing development of an integrated service between primary and secondary mental health care, creating a more responsive service for children and adolescents referred for primary mental health care with mild to complex issues. This is a stimulating, challenging and autonomous position to provide clinical leadership and service improvement across the CYF MHS portfolio.
Qualifications- Significant experience in a variety of mental health clinical backgrounds.
- Excellent communication and networking skills with service users, family/whanau, team members, and other agencies.
- Established leadership skills.
- Ability to prioritise urgency of response and level of response required.
- Skills in sharing knowledge, including delivery of teaching in primary care settings.
- Innovation, organisation and flexibility.
- NZ registration, at least four years experience in Mental Health with a current APC.
