Senior Communications Advisor - 12 Month Fixed-Term

About the Role

As a Senior Communications Advisor, you will work closely with the Manager, Communications and Engagement and Communications and Engagement Business Partners to implement communication plans, produce engaging content, and coordinate internal and external engagement activities. You will also play a key role in delivering work related to the Budget and PREFU, so we’re looking for someone who brings fresh thinking and innovative ideas to help drive meaningful impact and support the team’s ongoing success.

  • Develop and lead communication strategies that align with the Treasury’s priorities.
  • Produce high-quality content across various channels, including speeches, presentations, media releases, and social media.
  • Play a key role in supporting Budget communications.
  • Play a key role in supporting internal and external engagement activities.
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure consistent and effective messaging.

  • Proven experience in delivering internal and external communications, including developing and implementing communication plans.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, engaging content for diverse audiences.
  • Experience producing a range of content such as speeches, presentations, intranet stories, media releases, and social media posts.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong relationship management skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • An awareness of, and commitment to, the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and inclusive, culturally responsive communication.

Appointment range: $127,621.55 - $150,143.00 depending on skills and experience.
