Seeking applications from experienced Consultant Psychiatrists with extensive Community Mental Health experience.

About the RoleThe primary purpose of the role is to meet the needs of service users and their family/whānau using contemporary care that is safe, appropriate and effective.
The care is based on comprehensive assessment, ensures continuity, and is tangata whai i te ora centred, culturally sensitive and evidence based.
You will provide assessment, diagnosis and treatment in collaboration with the tangata whai i te ora, their family/whānau and carers and the multidisciplinary team to promote recovery.
About the Team / Service / LocationIhi Ora is a community mental health service providing a range of services for adults with moderate to severe mental illness or psychological distress.
Services are provided via multidisciplinary teams that include psychiatrists, nurses, psychologists, occupational therapists and social workers.
About youTo be successful in this role:
- You will be vocationally registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand and hold a current Practising Certificate.
- You will have experience and interest in providing a high‑quality service to service users experiencing moderate to severe mental ill‑health in a community setting and a commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for Māori.
- You will hold a full and clean driver’s licence, as this role involves community work.
