\nAbout the Role\n

We’re looking for an IT Project Manager to help deliver technology initiatives for a government department that plays a vital role in public service delivery. This is an opportunity to work on projects with purpose, scale, and visibility in an environment that values professionalism, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

\nResponsibilities\n
    \n
  • Support the successful delivery of IT projects from planning through to implementation and transition.
  • \n
  • Work alongside business leaders, technical teams, and delivery partners to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet government standards.
  • \n
  • Maintain hands‑on, detail‑focused oversight and operate effectively in a structured, regulated setting.
  • \n
  • Help define scope, requirements, and deliverables with business and technical stakeholders.
  • \n
  • Track progress, manage risks and issues, and support change control.
  • \n
  • Assist with budget tracking, resourcing, and vendor coordination.
  • \n
  • Prepare clear, concise project reports for governance forums and senior stakeholders.
  • \n
  • Ensure project documentation is accurate, complete, and audit‑ready.
  • \n
  • Contribute ideas to improve how projects are delivered across the organisation.
  • \n
\nQualifications\n
    \n
  • Experience as a PM in both Scrum and traditional PMP environments.
  • \n
  • Proficiency with Scrum (structured sprints, scope and delivery management) and standard PM discipline – managing the full lifecycle from SOW to financial reporting.
  • \n
  • Experience delivering bespoke, custom‑coded software development (e.g., .NET) alongside developers and testers.
  • \n
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in IT, business, or related field.
  • \n
  • Mid‑level PM required – 4+ years’ experience, with at least 1+ year supporting or managing IT projects.
  • \n
  • Background in IT delivery environments, specifically applications.
  • \n
  • Solid understanding of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, PMP or Hybrid).
  • \n
  • Experience working in or with government or regulated environments (highly desirable).
  • \n
  • Familiarity with public‑sector governance, reporting, or assurance processes (highly desirable).
  • \n
  • Certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, AgilePM, or Scrum.
  • \n
  • Strong communication skills – able to work comfortably with technical and non‑technical people.
  • \n
  • Curious, proactive learner who enjoys improving processes.
  • \n
