Job Description

Here is an opportunity for a rewarding role in our nationally recognised, innovative Kaupapa Māori organisation, dedicated to our Mission:

\n

This is an exciting opportunity to be a GP with an organisation acknowledged nationally as a kaupapa Māori model of success in health and social services delivery.

\n

Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga is a whānau-focused, Iwi mandated, kaupapa Māori health and social services organisation. We have been supporting our whānau me hapori to achieve their aspirations and general wellbeing for more than 40 years. We are one of NZ's largest kaupapa Māori health and social services organisations.

\n

Underpinning it all are our organisational values – Kotahitanga, Whakamana, Kaitiakitanga and Whanaungataunga, which are woven through everything we do.

\n

About us:

\n

Hauora Heretaunga is a Bronze Cornerstone Accredited Teaching practice that aims to deliver quality, evidence-based primary care services to our population of almost 7000 patients using the Health Care Homes framework. We are a high-needs clinic, committed to improving equity in our Māori and Pacifica populations. We pride ourselves on our collaborative approach to delivering holistic care with an integrated team approach to wrap around care.

\n

Our clinic is open Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm. We require GPs to work a minimum of 0.6 FTE (24 hours) per week, with a preference for 0.8 FTE (32 hours). Overseas candidates must confirm eligibility from the Medical Council of New Zealand website and may apply for an Accredited Employer Work Visa or Straight to Residency applications. Fixed‑term employment of at least 6 months is also considered. Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand is required.

\n

As part of our integrated model of care, you will work with a team made up of Clinical and Non‑Clinical staff. Reporting to the GP‑Clinical Lead, you will be supported by our experienced leadership team and a committed, experienced, professional primary care practice workforce of Nurse Practitioners, Nurse Prescribers, Registered Nurses, Healthcare Assistants and Administrator.

\n

Being part of the wider Taiwhenua health and services organisation, we also have access to the many services delivered on site, including Oranga Niho (Dental), Tamariki Ora, School‑based Nursing Teams, Mental Health, Drug & Alcohol and Housing. Our secondary services are supported by our corporate teams of Quality and Risk, Health and Safety, Support Services, HR, IT, Finance, Marketing and Communications.

\n
