This is a rare opportunity for a seasoned Data Scientist to step into a high-impact, 12-month hourly‑rate contract in Auckland. As a contract Data Scientist you will build efficient machine learning models and optimise data pipelines. Your day‑to‑day responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing advanced machine learning models (supervised, unsupervised, NLP, and time‑series) to solve complex business problems.
  • \n
  • Designing, cleaning, and implementing robust data pipelines to automate integration of data from databases, APIs, and cloud platforms.
  • \n
  • Optimising existing workflows and data transformations for maximum efficiency, scalability, and performance.
  • \n
  • Deploying production‑ready models into integrated environments and continuously monitoring their performance.
  • \n
  • Partnering with data engineers and business analysts to translate technical findings into actionable insights for non‑technical stakeholders.
  • \n
  • Creating intuitive dashboards and visualisations to track key metrics and support business intelligence.
  • \n
\nYour Fit\n

To succeed in this 12‑month contract you should have:

    \n
  • Extensive hands‑on experience as a Data Scientist or Machine Learning Engineer, focused on building, deploying, and maintaining models in an enterprise environment.
  • \n
  • High proficiency in Python, R, and SQL, with deep experience using data manipulation and ML libraries such as pandas, scikit‑learn, TensorFlow, or Keras.
  • \n
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases and data warehousing concepts.
  • \n
  • Proven ability to design robust feature‑engineering workflows and automated data pipelines.
  • \n
  • Outstanding communication skills, able to collaborate cross‑functionally and present technical concepts to senior management.
  • \n
  • A curious, adaptable, and detail‑oriented approach to problem‑solving.
  • \n
