\nThe role\n

This is a brand-new role and areal chance to build something from the ground up. You will own our datafoundation and lead the practical use of AI across the business.

\n

In your first few months youwill review our data pipelines and lift them to modern best practice, soreporting is reliable, fast and easy to maintain. From there you will workacross the business to find the workflows where AI can make a genuine difference,then build and deliver them. You will report directly to our Senior BusinessAnalyst, and you will have the room and the trust to shape this function as itgrows.

\nWhat youwill be doing\n

  • Reviewing our data pipelines end to end and rebuildingthem on a modern stack
  • \n
  • Fixing the root causes of broken refreshes, slowperformance and shaky data quality
  • \n
  • Setting sensible standards, documentation andmonitoring so the foundation stays healthy
  • \n
  • Working with teams across the business to find where AIcan add real value
  • \n
  • Scoping, prototyping and delivering practical AIsolutions that people actually use
  • \n
  • Keeping a close eye on cost and token efficiency as youbuild
  • \n
  • Helping our people adopt new tools with confidence
  • \n

  • Hands on experience building production pipelines thatothers depend on
  • \n
  • Practical experience working with AI and large languagemodels
  • \n
  • The confidence to work autonomously and set thestandard rather than inherit it
  • \n
  • A knack for turning a vague business need into a clearand well scoped piece of work
  • \n
  • Clear communication with both technical and non-technical people
  • \n
  • New Zealand work rights
  • \n

We are a Microsoft business, sothe following would be handy:

  • Microsoft Fabric, Power BI and Azure Data Factory
  • \n
  • Copilot Studio and other Microsoft AI tooling
  • \n
  • Working with Claude or other frontier AI models
  • \n
  • Token and cost optimisation, including caching andbatching
  • \n
  • Experience in transport, logistics or anotheroperationally busy industry
  • \n
