Cellar Hand, Hawke's Bay Winery
Delegat has earned a reputation as one of New Zealand's leading winemakers achieving global success with our Oyster Bay brand. We focus exclusively on making the world's most sought-after Super-Premium wines and have invested in modern technology and facilities. Production focuses primarily on Merlot, Pinot Gris, and Chardonnay varieties which are all harvested locally.
Delegat Hawke's Bay winery is an advanced facility with a 10,000-tonne capacity, which houses all its equipment and facilities under one roof. In addition to our state-of-the-art winemaking equipment, our team enjoy the benefits of having reticulated services throughout the cellar, an automatic barrel line and coated floors.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Cellar Hand to join our passionate winemaking team at our Hawke's Bay Winery.
As a Cellar Hand you will:
- Be involved in all winery operations. This will include fruit receival, clarification and fermentation during vintage and blending, fining and cooperage operations throughout the rest of the year.
- Support forklift operations
- Maintain general winery upkeep and cleanliness to a high standard
- Support the training and supervision of our vintage teams each season
- Work with advanced winemaking technology and machinery
- Be part of a passionate and motivated team
This is a full-time permanent role offering 40 hours a week Monday - Friday. Extra hours and weekend work is required during the vintage season March - April.
About you
- Experience within the winemaking industry or with forklift operations is preferred although not essential
- You are a strong team player with excellent communication skills
- You enjoy a challenge and work well under pressure
- You achieve goals by demonstrating a high level of attention to detail and a safety mindset
- You need to be willing to work extra hours and weekends during the vintage season
