Job Description
Job Purpose
As a Maintenance Technician, you will support the Director of Engineering and Maintenance Supervisor in maintaining the hotel's buildings, plant, equipment, fixtures, and assets to ensure a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for our guests and team members. You will also be responsible for ensuring all refrigeration and air-conditioning systems are maintained in compliance with relevant regulations and operate safely and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain building systems, including plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, and HVAC equipment.
- Conduct daily plant inspections, identifying and reporting any equipment defects or irregularities to ensure timely repairs and minimise downtime.
- Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment and water reticulation systems to maximise reliability and operational efficiency.
- Complete scheduled maintenance tasks in accordance with the Hotel's Property Maintenance System (PMS).
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and equipment servicing.
- Support the protection and upkeep of hotel assets, ensuring facilities remain safe, functional, and well-presented at all times.
Qualifications
- A hands-on, self-sufficient individual who takes pride in their work and able to work both unsupervised and in a team environment
- Previous experience working on the maintenance of hotel fixtures, fixed plant and equipment systems
- Knowledge of maintenance strategies
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated person who takes a proactive approach to work and is punctual and reliable
- Ability to accommodate flexibility with shifts.
