Job Description

We provide endtoend geotechnical services - from feasibility studies to detailed design and construction supervision - supporting internal and external clients across New Zealand and Australia.

As a Geotechnical Engineering Intern, you will support field and office tasks on projects spanning road, rail, airports, renewable energy, commercial and industrial developments, working under the guidance of experienced engineers.

How you'll make a difference:

  • Split your time between fieldwork (site visits, inspections, drilling/CPT programs, sampling and insitu testing) and officebased tasks (reporting, data analysis and design inputs) across project phases, always following our HSE procedures.
  • Assist with geotechnical data management and interpretation by compiling borehole logs, classifying soil/rock, scheduling and collating laboratory tests, and preparing ground models and GIS/CAD figures for review.
  • Contribute to design inputs by helping with preliminary checks for foundations, retaining structures and slopes (e.g., bearing, settlement, stability), documenting assumptions and performing QA checks in spreadsheets/entrylevel software.
  • Support constructionphase services by helping monitor instrumentation, prepare site memos and photo records, track actions/nonconformances, and review contractor submissions under supervision.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders, clients and contractors to deliver integrated solutions; help draft concise technical notes, sections of reports and presentations.
