Civil Engineer (Intermediate or Senior) | Timaru
Join our Timaru team and help shape the future of infrastructure across South Canterbury. As a Civil Engineer, you will work on a diverse range of civil and transportation projects, partnering with clients and multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical, sustainable solutions. This is an excellent opportunity to further develop your technical expertise, project management skills and client relationships while contributing to projects that have a lasting impact on local communities.
What you'll do
Manage and deliver civil engineering projects, ensuring technical quality, programme, budget and client satisfaction objectives are achieved.
Coordinate project activities, monitor financial performance, undertake invoice and support project reporting requirements.
Carry out investigations, inspections, analysis and design to develop effective solutions for client challenges.
Prepare reports, drawings, specifications, schedules of quantities and contract documentation for construction activities.
Undertake detailed design across a range of civil, transportation and infrastructure projects.
Assist with the supervision and monitoring of construction works and support successful project delivery.
Collaborate with colleagues across the business to provide integrated solutions and exceptional client service.
Support the technical development of other engineers and contribute to a strong team culture focused on safety, quality and continuous improvement.
About you
Relevant tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Ideally 5+ years of professional experience within civil engineering, transportation or infrastructure projects.
Experience delivering engineering design and project management outcomes in a consulting environment.
Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, technical standards and best-practice project delivery.
Experience using engineering design software such as Civil 3D or similar design tools.
Ability to prepare clear technical reports, specifications and construction documentation.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with a collaborative and client-focused approach.
Full, clean New Zealand driver license.
