We are looking for an experienced Health, Safety and Wellness Business Partner to join our People and Safety team. This is a key role for someone who is confident operating as a trusted subject matter expert, partnering with leaders and teams to embed safe, practical and compliant ways of working across a fast‑paced operational environment.

As our Health, Safety and Wellness Business Partner, you will provide specialist advice, systems leadership, coaching and assurance to support safe, healthy and effective work practices across Civtec. You will also contribute to the development of Civtec’s health, safety and wellness strategy and help drive its delivery across the business.

This role is hands‑on, visible and relationship‑led. You will support everything from risk management, critical controls, audits, incident management and reporting through to wellness initiatives, coaching, system improvements and practical guidance that turns strategy into meaningful, measurable action.

  • Provide practical health, safety and wellness advice to leaders and teams.
  • \n
  • Help develop and drive Civtec’s health, safety and wellness strategy.
  • \n
  • Embed safety into planning, tendering, mobilisation and daily operations.
  • \n
  • Improve health and safety systems, tools and documentation.
  • \n
  • Support risk assessments, critical controls and site assurance activity.
  • \n
  • Lead audits, report findings and support corrective actions.
  • \n
  • Support incident management, investigations and lessons learned.
  • \n
  • Analyse safety performance and turn insights into action.
  • \n
  • Mentor the Health, Safety and Wellness Advisor.
  • \n
  • Work with internal teams, contractors and suppliers to improve safety outcomes.
  • \n
About you\n
    \n
  • 4+ years’ experience in a Health and Safety BP, Senior Advisor or similar role.
  • \n
  • Relevant H&S qualification or equivalent practical experience.
  • \n
  • Good knowledge of NZ health and safety legislation and good practice.
  • \n
  • Experience improving practical health and safety systems.
  • \n
  • Strong coaching and influencing skills in operational environments.
  • \n
  • Confident analysing data and preparing clear reports.
  • \n
  • Clear, practical written and verbal communication.
  • \n
  • Strong relationship‑building and problem‑solving skills.
  • \n
  • High attention to detail and ability to work autonomously.
  • \n
  • Full driver licence.
  • \n
  • NZISM or NZSC accreditation preferred, but not essential.
  • \n
