#J-18808-LjbffrAs an Investment Director, you will lead a team responsible for the assessment, stewardship and performance of a portfolio of significant Crown investments. You will provide commercial leadership across the investment lifecycle while contributing as a senior leader within the Investment Management Branch.
Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Lead the management and stewardship of a portfolio of significant Crown investments. \n
- Assess, structure and negotiate complex investment opportunities and funding arrangements. \n
- Monitor performance and manage commercial, delivery, financial and reputational risks. \n
- Provide strategic advice and recommendations to Ministers and senior decision makers. \n
- Build trusted relationships with iwi, Māori organisations, local government, industry and investment partners. \n
- Lead and develop a high‑performing team whilst contributing to branch‑wide leadership and investment practice. \n

- Strong commercial judgement and the ability to evaluate complex investment opportunities, risks and outcomes. \n
- Ability to influence decision making and provide clear, evidence‑based advice in complex environments. \n
- Experience building and managing trusted relationships across government, industry, investors, local government, iwi and Māori organisations, or other senior stakeholders. \n
- Proven leadership capability, including developing people and contributing to high‑performing teams. \n
- Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills. \n
- Ability to work confidently in complex, ambiguous and politically sensitive environments. \n
- Must have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand. \n
- An understanding of the machinery of government or experience working in the public sector is desirable, but not essential. \n
