Are you ready to help shape the future of electricity in Aotearoa? Mercury is seeking a Senior Project Engineer – Electrical to lead and deliver electrical workstreams across our hydro and geothermal generation projects. In this role, you’ll work across all stages of the project lifecycle—from design and planning through to installation, commissioning, and close‑out. You’ll collaborate closely with Asset and Site Engineering teams, operational staff, and external partners to define scope, solve technical challenges, and ensure safe, high‑quality outcomes. Your electrical engineering expertise and ability to engage across disciplines will be key to driving innovation and maintaining asset integrity.

\n

We offer flexibility in our hours to accommodate your lifestyle, and you can work from our office, one of our sites, or from home while still valuing the opportunities to work with your wider team to collaborate. This role can be based in Hamilton or Rotorua—close to our hydro and geothermal sites.

  • \n
  • Strategic thinking and planning capability.
  • \n

  • \n
  • Ability to solve technical problems from first principles.
  • \n
  • Additional 5 days leave per annum (MyDays).
  • \n
  • $400 one‑off tax‑free payment towards setting up your home office.
  • \n
  • A diverse workplace where your unique abilities and talents will be recognised and encouraged.
