Cafe Supervisor/Barista
Job Description
We are a busy café located in Takapuna Auckland looking for a Cafe Supervisor/ Barista to join our friendly team.
\nThese are permanent positions offering between 30 to 40 hours per week at a pay rate of $25.00 to $35.00 per hour, depending on experience and skills. \n Key responsibilities will include:
\n • Supervise café staff to ensure high-quality customer service and adherence to company procedures.
\n • Coordinate staff rosters, manage shift changes, and ensure adequate staffing during service periods.
\n • Take customer orders, process payments, and provide service support during peak times.
\n • Ensure all food and beverage preparation areas comply with hygiene and safety regulations.
\n • Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering and stock rotation.
\n • Train new staff in café procedures, customer service standards, and safe food handling practices.
\n • Resolve customer complaints professionally and escalate issues when necessary.
\n • Ensure all café equipment is clean, well-maintained, and operated safely.
\n • Complete end-of-day cash reconciliations and assist with basic financial reporting as delegated.
\n • Prepare and serve coffee and beverages to a high standard.
\n • Deliver exceptional customer service and manage transactions efficiently.
\n • Uphold food safety and workplace health standards at all times.
\n What We’re Looking For:
• Certificate in Business, Hospitality Management, Communication or a related field at NZQF Level 4
\n • A minimum of 6 months’ experience in a hospitality environment is preferable
\n • Excellent communication and customer service skills
\n • A positive attitude and ability to work in a team environment
\n • Flexibility and reliability including work on weekends
