About the Team\n

Tokoroa Hospital is a busy rural hospital providing essential healthcare services to the South Waikato community. The Emergency Department manages approximately 14,000 presentations annually, supported by a 17‑bed inpatient ward. The hospital offers on‑site laboratory and plain film radiology services, including 24/7 on‑call support, as well as point‑of‑care ultrasound within the Emergency Department. We also provide community‑focused palliative care services, helping people remain closer to their whānau during times of need. Two General Practices operate from the hospital campus, with a third located within Tokoroa township. Visiting specialists from Waikato Hospital provide a range of outpatient clinics, while an on‑site four‑bed primary birthing unit is led by an experienced Charge Midwife Manager and dedicated midwifery team. Our service is strengthened through close partnerships with local primary care providers, Raukawa Charitable Trust, and the South Waikato Pacific Islands Community Services Trust, ensuring care is connected, culturally responsive and centred on the needs of our community.
