We’re looking for an experienced and passionate Experience & Venue Manager to lead the team and take ownership of this iconic attraction. You’ll thrive in a fast‑paced tourism environment and be driven to deliver exceptional, memorable guest experiences every day.

About the Role\n

As E&V Manager, you will be responsible for the overall operation and performance of Queenstown Ice Bar. From leading the team on the floor to managing operational standards and financial performance, you will ensure the venue runs smoothly while delivering an outstanding experience for every guest.

You will play a key role in shaping the team culture, maintaining high service standards, and continuing to grow the reputation of Queenstown Ice Bar as one of the town’s must‑visit attractions.

What you’ll be responsible for Leading the Venue\n

  • Overseeing the day‑to‑day operations of Queenstown Ice Bar.
  • \n
  • Creating a vibrant and welcoming environment for both guests and staff.
  • \n
  • Maintaining company operating procedures, including host responsibility and alcohol management policies.
  • \n
  • Managing the overall atmosphere of the venue, including lighting, music, and guest experience.
  • \n
Building and Developing the Team\n
    \n
  • Recruiting, training, and leading a high‑performing hospitality team.
  • \n
  • Supporting staff development and ensuring strong service standards.
  • \n
  • Creating a positive workplace culture where people feel motivated, supported, and proud of the venue.
  • \n
Delivering Exceptional Guest Experiences\n
    \n
  • Ensuring every guest receives outstanding service from the moment they arrive.
  • \n
  • Engaging with visitors from around the world and creating memorable experiences.
  • \n
  • Encouraging upselling and strong guest engagement.
  • \n
Managing the Business\n
    \n
  • Overseeing stock control, ordering, and stocktakes.
  • \n
  • Managing budgets, financial reporting, and cost control.
  • \n
  • Handling key administrative responsibilities, including banking, booking systems, and cash management.
  • \n
Events and Venue Standards\n
    \n
  • Supporting group bookings and events alongside the events team.
  • \n
  • Working with marketing initiatives that help bring guests through the door.
  • \n
  • Ensuring sculptures, venue presentation, and cleanliness are maintained to a high standard.
  • \n
What we’re looking for\n

We’re looking for a confident hospitality or tourism leader who enjoys taking ownership of a venue and inspiring a team to perform at their best. You will likely bring:

  • Previous experience managing a hospitality venue or leading a busy team.

  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and develop people.
  • \n
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • \n
  • Strong organisational skills and financial awareness.
  • \n
  • A genuine passion for hospitality and the tourism industry.
  • \n
  • The flexibility to work evenings and weekends in a busy tourism environment.
  • \n
  • Current LCQ or Manager's Certificate
  • \n
