\n About the role\n

Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Team Leader, Student Success to join Tītoko – Centre for Student Success team on a 12‑month fixed‑term, full‑time contract.

Key Responsibilities\n
    \n
  • Deliver the operational management of key business processes including planning and delivery of holistic student support and student administration processes for the team in accordance with university regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • \n
  • Contribute to the continuous development and improvement of student administrative processes.
  • \n
  • Ensure robust processes are followed to enable accurate entry of data into Banner, the Student Information Management System, and maintain effective records of student engagement in the Customer Relationship Management system (CRM).
  • \n
  • Mitigate risks, manage issues professionally, and prioritise business continuity.
  • \n
  • Provide effective leadership, management, and coaching to the team to drive and maintain alignment with the University’s strategic goals, Paerangi the Student Success Framework, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Framework goals, and the University’s Māori and core ethical values.

You will be a motivated, customer‑focused individual who can take the initiative, provide excellent administration and policy compliance. You will thrive in this role with an excellent manner with people, an ability to influence and manage conflict, strong attention to detail, and self‑management skills. The role is busy, challenging, extremely rewarding and interesting. You will be a highly organisational self‑starter and natural relationship builder, who relishes working autonomously as well as contributing positively to a high performing team. You will need effective time management and forward planning to balance meeting deadlines and maintain a high standard of service to both students and staff. The ability to remain calm under pressure and thrive working with a diverse range of stakeholders.

Key Requirements\n

  • Tertiary degree, or comparable professional experience in a similar role.
  • \n
  • Demonstrated client‑centred approach and service delivery skills.
  • \n
  • Proven experience in planning, policy analysis, reporting and delivering to tight deadlines.
  • \n
  • Highly developed communication skills, with the ability to express complex matters accurately and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • \n
  • Proven experience monitoring workloads and successfully developing, motivating, and managing staff.
  • \n
  • Proven understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application in an educational context.
  • \n
  • Demonstrated understanding of academic statutes and student academic processes.
  • \n
