As a Duty Crew Controller, you'll be at the centre of Qantas' day-to-day operation, playing a critical role in managing disruptions, recovering schedules and supporting the safe and efficient delivery of our flying programme. You'll coordinate and control crew activities in real time, including roster management, flight disruptions and crew logistics, ensuring our New Zealand-based Pilots and Cabin Crew are positioned to keep the operation moving.

This is a fast-paced, high-impact operational role suited to a confident communicator who thrives under pressure, enjoys solving complex problems and can balance competing priorities in a constantly changing environment. Working closely with a broad network of stakeholders, you'll make real-time decisions that directly influence operational outcomes and support the integrity of the flying programme.

To be successful, you'll have:

  • The ability to rapidly assess competing operational priorities and make sound decisions within tight timeframes.
  • Proven problem-solving skills, applying a calm and collaborative approach through effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience implementing, reviewing and adapting plans to minimise disruption and support schedule recovery.
  • Confidence working autonomously, thinking logically and decisively in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate operational impacts and decisions.
  • A solid understanding of airline, airport or disruption management operations would be highly regarded.
  • Flexibility to work as part of a 24/7 rotating roster.
