Event Director & Facilitator Job in Onehunga, Auckland - SEEK
Job Description
One week we're helping hundreds of graduates connect at a major conference. The next we're facilitating a leadership challenge for one of New Zealand's biggest organisations. Then we're loading a trailer, jumping on a plane, and delivering an event somewhere completely different.
\nNo two days are ever the same.
\nAt Team Up Events, we don't just organise events. We create experiences that strengthen teams, spark conversations, and leave lasting memories.
\nWe're looking for our next Junior Event Director & Facilitator to join our Auckland team.
\nThis is more than an event job. It's an opportunity to build a long-term career with New Zealand's leading corporate team event company.
Who We Are\nFor more than 15 years, Team Up Events has been helping organisations build stronger teams through engaging team bonding, team building and team development experiences.
\nWe're proud to work with many of New Zealand's leading organisations, including KPMG, Mainfreight, Foodstuffs, Zespri, Toyota, IAG, Genesis, City Fitness, ASB and many more.
\nWe're also the exclusive New Zealand partner of Catalyst Global, the world's largest network of team building providers operating across more than 50 countries.
\nDespite our growth, we're still a close-knit team that genuinely enjoys working together, challenging each other, and celebrating each other's success.
Why We're Recruiting\nThe person currently in this role joined us straight out of university almost three years ago.
\nSince then, they've grown into confidently leading major corporate events across New Zealand, built fantastic client relationships, and become an integral part of our team.
\nThey're now heading overseas for their next adventure (with our full support), and we're excited to find the next person ready to follow a similar journey.
\nIf you're motivated, coachable and love working with people, we'll give you every opportunity to grow.
What You'll Be Doing\nThis is a varied role where you'll learn every aspect of delivering exceptional corporate events.
\nYou'll be involved in:
\n- \n
- Designing memorable corporate team experiences \n
- Preparing and coordinating events throughout New Zealand \n
- Facilitating engaging events for groups ranging from 10 to 500+ participants \n
- Building strong relationships with clients before, during and after events \n
- Leading and supporting casual event staff \n
- Setting up, packing down and maintaining event equipment \n
- Travelling throughout New Zealand to deliver events \n
- Learning our exclusive range of internationally licensed programmes \n
- Contributing ideas that help us continually improve what we do \n
Some days you'll be standing on stage with a microphone in front of hundreds of people. Other days you'll be organising equipment, solving logistical challenges, or loading a trailer.
\nYou’ll need to enjoy both.
Who We're Looking For\nExperience is great. Attitude is even better. We're looking for someone who:
\n- \n
- Loves working with people and building relationships \n
- Has energy, confidence and a positive outlook \n
- Is comfortable speaking in front of groups (or excited to learn) \n
- Is highly organised and enjoys being prepared \n
- Can think on their feet when things don't go exactly to plan \n
- Is willing to roll up their sleeves and help wherever needed \n
- Wants to continually learn and improve \n
- Enjoys being part of a team that has each other's back \n
You don't need to come from the events industry. Applicants from the following backgrounds are encouraged to apply:
\n- \n
- Teaching \n
- Coaching \n
- Sport and Recreation \n
- Event Management \n
- Hospitality \n
- Tourism \n
- Group Fitness \n
- Training and Facilitation \n
- Customer Service \n
- Performing Arts \n
If your job has involved engaging, motivating or leading groups of people, we'd love to hear from you.
What We Offer\n- \n
- Ongoing training and professional development \n
- A genuine career pathway into Event Director and Senior Event Director roles \n
- Opportunities to travel throughout New Zealand \n
- Work with some of New Zealand's leading businesses and organisations \n
- A supportive, high-performing team that genuinely enjoys what they do \n
- Flexible working where appropriate \n
- A workplace that values initiative, ownership and continuous improvement \n
Most importantly... We practise what we preach. Culture isn't something we talk about—it's something we work hard to create every day.
\nIf you're looking for a career where you'll challenge yourself, meet incredible people, develop professionally, and have a lot of fun along the way, we'd love to hear from you.
\nPlease submit your CV together with a cover letter telling us why you'd be a great fit for Team Up Events.
\nApplications will be reviewed as they're received, so don't wait too long.
