What the day will look like

As Platform Manager, you will be responsible for driving the strategy, roadmap and day-to-day delivery of Aon New Zealand’s specialist insurance platforms. Sitting at the intersection of technology and business operations, this role is a key business enabler focused on improving platform capability, supporting operational excellence and delivering strong client and business outcomes.

You will work closely with business product managers, technology product leadership, analysis and engineering teams to lead the end-to-end delivery of platform initiatives; from discovery and requirements through to design, build, testing and launch.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and execute the strategy and roadmap for Aon New Zealand’s Commercial Risk platforms
  • Drive platform enhancements by translating business needs into prioritised initiatives
  • Manage platform backlogs and coordinate delivery across business and technology teams
  • Partner with APAC stakeholders to maintain, integrate and optimise platform capabilities
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of platform projects and enhancements
  • Increase platform adoption through new capabilities, process improvements and user engagement
  • Monitor platform performance, governance and compliance standards
  • Support platform learning, documentation and stakeholder communications.
  • Act as the key relationship lead for carrier platform engagement and support
  • Work closely with the platform enablement manager to ensure there is clarity on capability development areas for the business analysts and platform executives in the team.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Experience leading and enhancing insurance platforms, with a focus on driving innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across business leaders, operational teams and external partners.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, able to translate strategy into clear, actionable outcomes.
  • Commercially minded with strong business planning and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proven experience delivering technology or platform initiatives across cross-functional business and technology teams.
  • Understanding of platform governance, compliance and operational performance within a complex business environment.
