Graduates at Deloitte have a week-long induction to learn about the business, get paired with a buddy and coach to help them find their place in the team, and build connections with almost 200 other graduates doing the exact same thing! You are not on a 'programme' and instead inducted into the business as a key member of the team from day one. Once you sign your contract with Deloitte, you will start in February the year following. Between the application process and your start-date, we have many events and touchpoints, so you feel part of the Deloitte whanau before your first day and are greeted with friendly faces.

Job Description

As a Graduate, you will engage in client interviews, workshops, and training sessions, develop deliverables, and present recommendations to stakeholders nationwide across diverse industries.

Organisation & Workforce Transformation supports our clients across four key areas:

Organisation Design: Focusing on how companies are structured to ensure they operate efficiently. It involves assessing the current organisation, realigning leadership roles, creating effective functional models, reducing costs, mergers and acquisitions, restructuring teams, and providing consultation support. The goal is to align the organisation's structure with its strategic objectives for optimal performance.

Leadership, Culture and Learning: Here, we help organisations develop their company values and desired culture to foster a positive and productive environment. This includes developing high-performance teams, enhancing leadership capabilities through development programs, and designing and delivering learning experiences. The aim is to build strong leadership and a culture that supports continuous learning and development.

Workforce Strategies: This area is about planning and managing the workforce to meet future business needs. It involves strategic workforce planning to identify necessary capabilities and skills, redesigning work processes to incorporate AI and automation, and planning remuneration and benefits. The objective is to ensure the organisation has the right talent and skills to achieve its goals.

Strategic & Technology Change: This involves guiding organisations through significant changes, such as adopting new digital technologies and integrating post-merger operations. We focus on enabling new ways of working, promoting sustainability. The purpose is to help organisations adapt to changes smoothly and remain competitive.

We deliver our work in project teams with team members across our different offices in New Zealand and at times Asia Pacific. This provides a fantastic opportunity to connect with colleagues throughout New Zealand and Asia Pacific.

Your typical day will include:

  • Working closely with clients to solve their complex problems, for example;
  • Collecting, analysing, and interpreting data to inform decision-making processes. Using data analytics to identify trends, performance metrics, and areas for improvement.
  • Conducting market research to understand industry trends, competitive landscapes, and technological advancements. This helps in providing strategic recommendations to clients.
  • Interviewing key stakeholders within the client organisation to gather insights and understand their needs, challenges, and expectations related to transformation initiatives.
  • Supporting clients to navigate change and bring meaning into people's work across a wide range of industries. For example;
  • Helping with project management tasks such as creating project plans, tracking progress, preparing status reports, and coordinating meetings. Ensuring projects stay on schedule and within budget is crucial.
  • Preparing presentations for clients, summarising findings, proposed solutions, and progress updates, or delivering training sessions to support others to change. Effective communication skills are key to conveying complex information clearly.

A degree which helped you learn about people in work and understanding of business such as: Organisational Development, Organisational Behaviour, Leadership Studies, Business Administration, Adult Education, Human Resource Development/Management, Communications, Change Management, Labour Economics, Behavioural Theory.

  • Effective Communication is essential for conveying ideas, findings, and recommendations clearly and persuasively to clients and team members. This includesexcellentverbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to create compelling presentations and reports.
  • The ability to analyse complex data, identify trends, and draw meaningful insights is crucial.
  • Critical thinking, creativity, and an aptitude for strategic planning and execution.
