Te Mahi – About the job\nThe Wellington region is one of Radio New Zealand’s key hubs for listeners and audiences, which also houses our corporate head office. As the Bureau Chief (Wellington), your role will be key in attracting new people and audiences to RNZ through a top-quality news service on audio, social and digital platforms, while leading and managing the news team in covering the Wellington region, South of Taupo. Your focus will be on high quality, original radio news and digital journalism, covering the biggest news stories of the day and handling all breaking news.

- Established editorial leadership skills in running a newsroom. \n
- Significant skills and experience in journalism, especially radio and digital reporting. \n
- Experienced manager of journalists at varying levels of experience. \n
- Strong organisational skills and deadline driven. \n
- Skilled at building and maintaining trusted relationships. \n
- Good knowledge of Wellington and its people and culture. \n
- Culture knowledge of diverse communities and managing diverse staff. \n
