About the Role\nWe are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to join our team as the Planned Care and Production Planning Manager. Reporting to the Group Director of Operations, you will play a pivotal role in driving the planning, coordination and delivery of planned care services across the Counties Manukau District. Working in partnership with senior clinical and operational leaders, you will lead production planning, oversee planned care performance, and ensure services are delivered efficiently while maintaining a strong focus on quality, equity and patient outcomes. This is a highly collaborative role that will influence service delivery across multiple specialties, ensuring resources are optimised and healthcare targets are achieved.
Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Lead the planning, monitoring and delivery of the Price Volume Schedule (PVS) across all services. \n
- Drive the delivery of planned care, including the effective use of approved private sector providers where appropriate. \n
- Partner with the General Manager, Surgical and Ambulatory Services to optimise theatre utilisation and maximise in‑house surgical capacity. \n
- Lead operational production planning to support both acute and planned care delivery, ensuring responsiveness to evolving Health New Zealand and regional priorities. \n
- Build strong partnerships with clinical and operational leaders to improve patient and whānau experiences, service performance and workforce engagement. \n
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency and system performance through innovative planning and service improvement initiatives. \n
You are a strategic and influential leader with extensive experience working in complex healthcare environments. You have a proven ability to translate organisational priorities into operational delivery and build strong relationships that achieve sustainable results.
Required Qualifications\n- \n
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Health Management or a related discipline. \n
- Significant senior management experience within a large, complex healthcare environment, including operational, financial, people and change management. \n
- Demonstrated success in leading sustainable service improvement and operational performance initiatives. \n
- Strong experience leading organisational change and delivering results through high‑performing teams. \n
- The ability to engage, influence and collaborate with clinicians, managers and executive stakeholders to achieve shared outcomes. \n
- Proven success in fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, continuous improvement and customer‑focused service delivery. \n
- Excellent planning and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment. \n
- A strong commitment to professional integrity, equity, collaboration and delivering high‑quality outcomes for patients and whānau. \n
