Prepared Produce Assistant

Our Wellington Prepared Produce division is looking for an enthusiastic team member to join us on a Fixed term in our Upper Hutt branch.

This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who thrive in a team environment and enjoy hands-on work with fresh food.

Position snapshot:

• Fixed-Term from June 2026 till March 2027
\n
• Roster: 5 days/week, 12:00 pm to 09:00 pm
\n
• Extended leave cover position
\n
• Location: William Durant Drive, Upper Hutt
\n

Key Responsibilities:

\n
• Cleaning, washing, and processing fresh produce
\n
• Grading, cutting, dicing, and peeling vegetables and fruits
\n
• Weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients
\n
• Inspecting product quality before packaging
\n
• Operating machinery for peeling, coring, slicing, and dicing
\n
• Vacuum packaging and labelling
\n
• Cleaning equipment and work areas
\n
• Adhering to strict food safety and health & safety protocols
\n

Ideal Candidate Profile:

\n
• Experience in fresh produce, warehousing, or food processing
\n
• Comfortable working in cold environments
\n
• Physically fit with good knife-handling skills
\n
• Intermediate literacy and numeracy skills
\n
• Knowledge of food ingredients and fresh produce
\n
• Reliable, hardworking, and team-oriented
\n
• Flexible with working hours
\n
• Reliable transport and commitment to scheduled shifts
\n
• Strong understanding of health & safety requirements
\n
