THE OPPORTUNITY
We're looking for an experienced Barista & Cafe All-Rounder to join our team! If you're passionate about great coffee, love providing exceptional customer service, and enjoy working in a fast-paced cafe environment, we'd love to hear from you.
In this role, you'll work alongside our Cafe Manager to deliver consistently excellent coffee, provide friendly and efficient front-of-house service, assist with food preparation and cabinet presentation, and help keep the cafe running smoothly day to day.
We're looking for someone who can confidently switch between making quality espresso coffee, serving customers, handling the till, preparing food, and supporting the team wherever needed. You'll be someone who thrives under pressure, can multitask with ease, thinks on your feet, and brings positive energy and a genuine smile to every shift.

THE ROLE
Craft Exceptional Coffee
Consistently prepare high-quality coffee and beverages to company standards, including daily calibration and maintaining equipment to ensure every cup is spot on.
Support Food & Cabinet Presentation
Assist with light food preparation, cabinet presentation, and maintaining excellent food hygiene standards.
Deliver Outstanding Customer Service
Create a welcoming environment through warm, efficient, and knowledgeable service while handling feedback with professionalism.
Lead From the Front
Support and guide baristas and front-of-house team members, helping maintain strong service standards and a positive team culture.
Train & Develop the Team
Provide on-the-job training in coffee, food, and customer service, building confidence and capability within the team.
Keep Service Flowing
Jump in wherever needed-on the machine, the till, or the floor-to keep service running smoothly during busy periods.
Maintain Clean & Safe Spaces
Ensure all areas are tidy, clean, and compliant with health and safety requirements.
Stock & Ordering Support
Monitor stock levels across coffee, food, and retail items, assisting with ordering and inventory checks.
Contribute Ideas
Bring creativity to the cafe with ideas for seasonal drinks, specials, and keeping up with trends in coffee and cafe culture.
Collaborate Across the Business
Work closely with management, our head roaster, and head baristas across our New Zealand cafes to ensure a consistent and exceptional experience.
ABOUT YOU:
- Must have at least 1-2 years experience as a barista.
- Experience with soft brewing techniques ideal but not a pre-requisite
- Expertise in coffee preparation and equipment maintenance.
- Experience in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
- A passion and commitment to working sustainably.
- Sound knowledge of coffee and a hunger to learn more.
- Good personal presentation and hygiene.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to handle pressure and solve problems.
- Ability to maintain a clean section.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, suppliers and customers.

This is a full time permanent role across 4-5 days (minimum).
Must be flexible and available to work weekends.
