Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Kairuruku - Research Assistant in Artificial Intelligence to join Te Kura Matai Pukaha, Purorohiko - School of Engineering and Computer Science on a fixed-term, part-time contract for 5 months.
Key responsibilities:
- Integrate spectral transformations into an existing Pytorch codebase.
- Train, debug, and tune models on high performance computing infrastructure.
- Conduct systematic evaluations.
- Contribute to scientific publications.
O pumanawa - About you
You will be a motivated and curious researcher, with proven experience in machine learning concepts and implementation. You will be an organised and reliable individual, able to keep accurate records of experiments and describe your work thoroughly to the project team.
Key requirements:
- Demonstration of strong coding skills through previous ML projects or assignments. Github evidence preferred.
- A foundational understanding of various ML architectures, including attention mechanisms.
- Reasonable mathematical competency, evidenced through mathematics courses or otherwise.
- Curiosity and interest in environmental modelling.
