Position Type: Maintenance/Custodial/Cleaner Date Posted: 6/1/2026 Location: Wellington District Office Wellington Exempted Village School District (Lorain County) is seeking a motivated and dependable cleaner to work in one of our three schools. During the school year, this position will primarily work after school hours but during summers and breaks, day shift hours are preferred. Wage Range is based upon collective bargaining agreement and years of experience. Starting wage is estimated between $15.09 and $18.17. JOB TITLE Cleaner – Evening MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Must be able to work evenings but flexible during summer months or custodian coverages Demonstrate aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities High school graduate or equivalent Pass mandated criminal background checks and enroll in Rapback program Minimum of 18 years old Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times Can stoop, kneel, reach, crawl, lift (at least 50 pounds), carry, push, pull, climb, balance, and see PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Valid driver's license DUTIES ASSIGNED BY Superintendent, Principal and/or Head Custodian JOB OBJECTIVE To support the head custodian in maintaining a clean and safe learning environment. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES Keeps the buildings and premises neat and clean at all times. Shovels snow and salts walks, parking areas, and steps as needed. Sweeps, mops, vacuums, polishes floors and corridors, and dusts furniture. Cleans and disinfects sinks, drinking fountains, urinals, toilets, mirrors, fittings, partitions, floors, etc., in assigned restrooms and locker rooms. Refills supplies in restrooms, classrooms, and custodial closets. Before leaving, assists in ensuring that all doors and windows are secured and all lights, except those on for safety reasons, are turned off. Moves furniture or equipment within buildings as required for various activities as directed. Maintains fire hazard‑free conditions. Performs other necessary duties, including climbing ladders, lifting cases, unloading shipments, and is able to operate power equipment as required. Demonstrates a responsible use of supplies and equipment. Reports to Head Custodian or Custodian‑Evening if supplies need to be replenished or repairs made. Reports any damage, vandalism, or theft immediately to the Principal. Attends and completes all scheduled training sessions. Stays up to date on safety practices and procedures. Follows all Wellington Exempted Village Schools policies and procedures. Reports to work on time, with the appropriate safety attire, and communicates all absences in a timely manner while following appropriate procedures. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT Hourly and work year as per the Negotiated Agreement. EVALUATION Performed annually by Building Principal or Designee (per Negotiated Agreement). #J-18808-Ljbffr
