Job Description

Engineering Risk Manager Are you an engineering professional who thrives on solving complex operational challenges? Do you enjoy partnering with asset, operations, and engineering teams to improve decision‑making and lift organisational performance? This is a rare opportunity to step into a high‑impact role at the centre of risk, assurance, and operational excellence. About the Role As the Engineering Risk Manager, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening risk‑informed decision making across asset management and operational functions. You'll work closely with engineering leaders, planners, and frontline teams to embed practical risk processes that support safe, reliable, and customer‑centred outcomes. This is a senior, business‑facing role where you'll integrate technical insight with risk expertise. You'll help teams understand their risks, test the effectiveness of controls, and provide clear, actionable advice that influences investment decisions, maintenance priorities, and operational planning. What You’ll Do Partner with engineers, operational leaders, and asset managers to embed strong risk practices. Support the identification, assessment, and management of operational and asset risks. Challenge and support decision making across asset lifecycle planning, maintenance, and field operations. Conduct targeted assurance reviews and control testing to confirm that critical controls are effective. Lead and enhance risk reporting, using data and insights to inform senior leadership. Build capability, foster a proactive risk culture, and promote continuous improvement across the organisation. What You’ll Bring Formal risk management experience is not essential – what matters most is your ability to understand engineering and operational environments, navigate competing priorities, and communicate technical insights clearly. 5+ years’ experience in engineering, asset management, operations, or a related field. Strong business acumen and the confidence to constructively challenge and influence. Excellent written and verbal communication skills across a range of stakeholders. Experience working with risk frameworks or operational assurance processes. A collaborative mindset, with the ability to build strong relationships and drive practical outcomes. A passion for improving safety, reliability, and customer experience. Why Join Us? Influence decisions that shape essential infrastructure and community outcomes. Work with highly skilled engineering and operational teams. Opportunity to grow your risk expertise in a supportive, forward‑thinking environment. A role with genuine impact, autonomy, and visibility across the organisation. #J-18808-Ljbffr
