Policy Analyst – Financial Markets and Regulatory Institutions Apply for Analyst at New Zealand Government in Wellington City, N, NZ. About the Role Our team provides advice to the Government on a range of economic policy areas, including banking, insurance, retirement income, capital markets, and overseas investment. We are responsible for three significant pieces of legislation: the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act, the Natural Hazards Insurance Act, and the Overseas Investment Act. Additionally, we manage the budget process for the Ministry for Regulation and lead engagement with Australian counterparts through the Trans‑Tasman Council on Banking Supervision. Our work programme is fast-paced and challenging – recently we have worked on bank capital settings, advised on the affordability of insurance, amended the Overseas Investment Amendment Act, and engaged with the OECD on their latest Economic Survey of New Zealand. About You You are a public policy professional with a strong understanding of the policy development process and economic concepts.
