Primary Mental Health Clinician or Psychologist – Primary Integration & Mental Health & Intervention Service (PRIMHIS), Rotorua. Fixed Term 12 months, parental leave cover, part‑time (0.5 FTE / 40 hours per fortnight). An exciting opportunity has become available to work as a Clinician/Psychologist and join our passionate Rotorua PRIMHIS team. We are looking for a Mental Health Clinician who not only embraces our ideals of compassion, Manaakitanga and quality evidence‑based therapy, but also has a passion to use their psychological and relationship‑building skills to make a difference in the lives of adults and young people aged 15 upwards. Routine use of Feedback Informed Treatment. Potential to facilitate groups. Working across a range of locations in the Rotorua area. Links with colleagues from other organisations and primary care, such as Health Improvement Practitioners. About the Team / Service / Location PRIMHIS is a small but growing multi‑disciplinary team of psychologists and other mental health professionals, offering high quality, evidence‑based, person‑centred and accessible brief psychological interventions for people with mild to moderate mental health difficulties. We pride ourselves on our compassionate and collaborative approach to providing the highest quality therapy and the use of feedback‑informed treatment to ensure client experience and preference guides our work. We understand that to provide the best therapeutic care we must also extend that manaakitanga to each other through team support and professional development. Core service hours are Monday to Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm, but there is the possibility of alternative hours to join our evening clinics. About You Experience as a clinician with proven therapy skills, or a newly qualified clinician with a growth mindset and strong motivation to develop therapy and formulation skills Training and experience in evidence‑based talking therapies, ideally brief psychological interventions Ability to formulate and adapt your approach to the unique situation, needs, age and cultural identity of individuals Motivated and reliable clinician with the ability to work autonomously in a role that requires high‑level relational skills with clients, whanau and colleagues Registered health or social care professional with a current APC (or eligibility for and seeking registration) Current full clean NZ driver’s licence and meet requirements for children’s worker safety checks Ideally competent with te ao Māori, tikanga and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey in learning and growth Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
