As a Nurse Educator, you will play a key role in supporting clinical excellence and nursing capability. You will: Deliver ward-based education and bedside teaching aligned to organisational standards and surgical best practice Support nursing staff to develop competency across a range of surgical specialties, with a focus on post-cardiac care Provide coaching, mentorship, and real-time clinical feedback in the ward environment Support the rollout of new equipment, procedures, and clinical changes impacting ward nursing practice Assist with the orientation and support of New Graduate Nurses as part of our New Graduate Programme Why Join Wakefield Hospital & Evolution Healthcare? Desired Skills and Experience About You We’re looking for an experienced, clinically credible Nurse Educator who brings energy, curiosity, and a passion for developing others. You will bring: Registration as a Nurse with a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC) 3–5 years’ recent surgical nursing experience, with the confidence to teach at the bedside Demonstrated experience in clinical education, coaching, or competency development The ability to build strong relationships and influence practice in a busy clinical environment Strong communication skills and the confidence to give constructive, real-time feedback The ability to assess education needs, evaluate learning outcomes, and adapt education accordingly A postgraduate qualification in nursing (completed or working towards) is preferred You’ll thrive in this role if you enjoy being visible on the ward, value collaboration, and like bringing fresh ideas to how education is delivered.
