Design & Pre-Construction Manager

This highly successful national contractor enjoys long term relationships and a strong pipeline of negotiated design-build projects resulting in the creationof a new roleto lead the front end of projects through development of design, methodology, programme, and cost whilst fostering strong relationships with consultants and stakeholders to set up projects efficiently and then support site delivery teamsthrough construction. This role suits someone practical, commercially sharp and good with people — someone who can bring structure, an eye for detail, build trust and keep momentum acrossmultiple elements. In this role you will: Lead the end to end design process Develop & manage pre-construction programmes Drive buildability and value engineering initiatives Actively collaborate on cost & commercial planning Manage consenting and early project risks Oversee the production of quality designs & documentation Support delivery teams through construction Manage relationships with clients, stakeholders and consultants The business has built a strong reputation for its collaborative culture, experienced leadership team and ability to consistently deliver award-winning projects. For this key appointment we are seeking: Extensive Design Management experience on major projects Project Management experience on Design Build Projects advantageous Excellent knowledgeof value engineering & risk management Proven ability to buildgreat relationships & drive decisions Experience from a commercial contractor preferred Excellent knowledge of local Building codes, consenting & construction Excellent coordination skills and eye for detail Ideally would be have worked for a majorcommercial contractor in New Zealand on large building projects and bring a strong understandingof Pre-Constructionwith demonstrated success working on Design Build projects.
